Frontline Forward is here to assist all of our first responders and military. Bryan Stevens worked 30 years as a paramedic, the last 18 of them responding to “the worst calls” as a critical care flight paramedic aboard a helicopter out of London. In total, he figures he responded to roughly 10,000 calls. Despite his extensive training, he wasn’t prepared for was dealing with the mental anguish he experienced while on the job.
Bryon was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress syndrome (PTSD) in 2014. After undergoing 15 months of intensive therapies to help manage the symptoms, he opted for early retirement. Bryon is creating a wellness centre specifically geared to first responders inside a former automotive garage on Shirley Avenue in Kitchener.
Harold will be speaking with Bryon on Frontline Forward Radio FM98.5 CKWR.
