Office of Harold Albrecht, MP
On Saturday, June 10th, Harold Albrecht hosted his 9th annual Shredding Party. This is an event where constituents can take advantage of industrial-sized shredding machines to destroy sensitive personal documents which are no longer required to be kept, and serves as an opportunity to learn about fraud prevention.
There was a steady stream of vehicles from 9am until after 12 noon.
On hand was Detective Jason Murray, of Waterloo Police’s Fraud Prevention unit, who answered questions and educated many on how best to avoid fraud and identity theft.
This event has become very popular the past several years. Food and money donations have been accepted for the Food Bank of Waterloo Region.
With a volunteer from the Food Bank accepting donations, this year’s Shredding Party accepted over $1400 in cash donations and 570 pounds of food!
Harold stated: “This event is one of the highlights of my year. It is encouraging to see the continued generosity of people in our community – I am so proud to represent the great people of the ‘best riding in Canada’”
