Office of Harold Albrecht, MP
This past Saturday Harold Albrecht hosted the 8th annual ‘Shredding Party’. This is an event where constituents can take advantage of industrial sized shredding machines to destroy personal documents and also serves as an opportunity to learn about fraud prevention.
There was a steady stream of vehicles from 8:15 am (with a 9am start time) until after 12 noon.
On hand was Detective Jason Murray, of Waterloo Police’s Fraud Prevention unit, who answered questions and educated many on how best to avoid fraud and identity theft.
This event has become very well known of the past several years and as such, food and money donations have been accepted for the local food bank.
With a volunteer dedicated to the Food Bank accepting donations this year’s Shredding Party accepted $1,032 in cash donations and over 396 pounds of food.
The Food Bank of Waterloo Region has said this will provide 3,492 meals – up 563 meals from last year’s Shredding Party.
Harold stated: “It was incredible to see the generosity of Kitchener-Conestoga residents! The dollars and food donated will make a positive difference for many! It is humbling to represent the great people of the ‘best riding in Canada’” Harold Albrecht, MP
