Office of Harold Albrecht, MP
This past Saturday, Harold Albrecht hosted his 10th annual Shredding Party. This event provides constituents with an opportunity to take advantage of industrial shredding machines, provided by Shred-It, to destroy personal documents and also seeks to educate those who attend about fraud prevention.
There was a steady stream of vehicles from 9am until after 12 noon.
On hand was Detective Jason Murray of the Waterloo Regional Police Service’s Fraud Prevention Unit, who answered questions and educated many on how best to avoid fraud and identity theft.
This event has become very well-known over the past several years, and as such, food and monetary donations have been accepted for the Food Bank of Waterloo Region.
With a volunteer dedicated to the Food Bank accepting donations, this year’s Shredding Party accepted just under $900 in cash donations and 300 pounds of food! This will provide roughly 2,792 meals for our neighbours in need throughout the Waterloo Region.
Harold stated, “This event is one of the highlights of my year. It is encouraging to see the continued generosity of those in our community – I am so proud to represent the constituents of Kitchener-Conestoga, the best riding in Canada!”
